Maria Digna Ramos Mendoza takes care of her five children in a one-room mud hut. As a participant in the nutrition study, she receives monthly food vouchers for her children in addition to the nutritional supplement for her malnourished infant.
However, life still is not easy for the family. Without electricity nor running water, they have to forgo simple necessities in life, like bathing and eating regular meals. Mendoza wakes up every day not knowing whether she will have enough food to feed her hungry children.
